A recruiter reached out to me about a Senior Knowledge Analyst position at BCG - anyone have any experience with this role? I’m currently a SC with an MBA and 5 years of experience so I can’t tell if

It’s not a consulting role, you just administer firm knowledge and help projects with information.

Send them my way. I am in need of a job and I'll take it if given

like

Why don't you go through a round or two to learn more about the role? You've got nothing to lose. Also, try to think long term.

like

I’m being too bratty about the “analyst” title??

I agree with E2 and practically speaking, I don’t want to waste either of our time if the salary is below my current salary. The JD says advanced degree preferred with 1 to 2 years of experience so it sounds like I’m a little overqualified but I don’t know how to broach that without sounding like a dick? The work sounds interesting so I’m curious if there are open positions at a higher level? Only 15% travel which sounds kind of enticing.

like

Can they offer the rank higher?

like

Thanks BCG1, that’s kind of what I was afraid of but the JD made it sound a little more interesting. I think I got a little too excited about a local DC role that isn’t federal consulting but I think I would get bored with this more support type role.

like

That’s a good idea, D1. I’m still considering how I will respond to the recruiter tomorrow.

Funny enough, I’m also prepping for an interview with Deloitte S&O in a few weeks. I think that’s more what I’m looking for right now as I only have one year of consulting experience, the rest is industry.

Who cares about titles?

@OP feel you in the DC fed lyfe for local

Yup. Not typically client facing. Research team

Work in tax and am super burned out. Considered taking a leave of absence back in November and tried fighting through it. Now it’s January and busy season is starting up and am leaning on leaving without a new job lined up (have been on interviews and have received offers but nothing has been of interest). Any advice?

Feeling like I’m at a crossroads. Been working at agencies in LA for over a decade. Moved to a new agency recently and then well I guess “last hired, first fired” is true since I was part of their layoffs after only 6 months.

Not really sure if the best next move is to stay agency-side, move in-house, or try my hand as a consultant (stay remote, make my own hours & pick my own clients).

Any agencies y’all would recommend that are mostly remote? (Post continues in comments)

I just obtained my Masters in Healthcare Administration and I can’t find a job in my field. At all. I’ve spent 15 years in lab and all I keep coming across are lab jobs. The lab technician positions pay too little and lab management requires at least a Bachelors of Science and I don’t have that. That’s totally fine because I’m trying to get out of lab and poke my head deeper into Research (I’m a Research Lab Supervisor) but no one will give me a chance. I feel so hopeless and stuck.
