Hi all! I am former federal government. I resigned due to lack of opportunities and growth. I am interested in a couple of Apple service roles within Pay, Care and SDS. Also, Amazon PM roles under Music, Live Sports and Brand Protection. However, with to the current economic conditions is it smarter to focus on fed roles versus Tech. I’ve never had a Tech role. I have a BS Mechanical Engineering and MBA. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi guys, I need a suggestion.
I am very new to devops domain like only 6 month of theoretical knowledge and i got offer pf a tech lead role in a company so will i be able to survive ? Will this 6 month knowledge with less hand-on is sufficient to survive or should i choose lesser profile first and try to learn and then try for higher role as tech lead? Guys who are working in devops domain please help me to understand that how is the work load in devops?

Don’t have the time. I have real meetings back to back every day.
All the time
Explains what some people on my team are up to...🤔
All day, everyday.
I’ve done this before to get away from the random pings to have actual time to do my work. Not so much anymore when I’m in back to back meetings. I just gave up and now do my work before or after business hours.
Put status as Busy or Do Not Disturb as needed. Don't do fake meetings as it creates a false image of unavailability. Some of our teams have agreed to block off times in the week as no-meeting zones (atleast within the team) to get work done.
Personally, have a bias of not trusting someone who keeps blocking their calendar with fake meetings (compared to their workload and productivity)
Just put yourself on do not disturb.... lol
I tend to block out my calendar as a mean to prioritise work and remind myself what I should be focusing on lol
Yes
I just started doing it
This is why I’m surprised our firms don’t make calendars public, like many companies do. If something is confidential, you just make that specific meeting private. It increases transparency, which I think is a good thing.
If someone's calendar is blocked off that means they're unavailable for a meeting at that time. If people want something on their calendar while they remain available for a meeting they can just have outlook show them as available rather than busy and the problem is solved.
I get that there are plenty of people who don't do this and will just leave things on their calendar and then say they're actually available, but the solution to that is to just ask, not to make everyone else more on display.
I do it over lunch so I can get some time to cook, eat and take a quick nap. Otherwise it’s just back-to-back meetings 8am to 8pm and then I can start actually working on things. I don’t feel bad about clawing back 1h30 in the middle of the day.
Can’t you see that on a persons calendar?
Hell yeah I put them on my calendar but I don’t join them teams still goes on busy
You can change your status to “do not disturb” without being in a legit meeting so people a. Think you’re busy and b. Leave you alone
I put time in my calendar to protect work time. Otherwise I get meetings stacked all day.
Do people really think just because you are "in a meeting" that THAT will stop me from pinging you? 😂 If I need something from you, I will get a hold of you somehow lol be it pings, emails, texts, calls. If you don't want pop ups, then put yourself on Do Not Disturb. People can still ping you but those msgs won't actually pop up when you're on DND.
Are you my annoying SM?
