I'm currently a Senior Associate finishing up my MBA and I'm interviewing for a role in Corporate Strategy. I would like to discuss the salary range for this role with the recruiter. Is this recommended? What salary range should I be expecting as an internal hire? My target is 150k base for this role.

Talked to a recruiter about a Senior Portfolio Development Manager role at M12 (Microsoft’s VC). Base is 160-180k + 15% bonus + stock grant (idk how much this is). My current salary is 158 and will go up to 180k in July. I’m thinking it doesn’t make sense to apply for this role. Can someone validate my thoughts + share more information about the role if you have some?

$1.5M client and new “profitability tool” showing %0 profit. Credit split 50/50 btw 20 year attorney/equity partner (JEP) and a much more senior/connected EP (SEP). Both SEP and JEP developed separate workstreams unrelated to the other. SEP‘s was terminated 3 years ago and only accounts for $200K trail off of the $1.5M. SEP’s salary is 3 times JEP’s. Profitability tool “costs” are not transparent, suspect SEP’s high salary is a factor. Anything (other than typical overhead) to ask about?

Hey everyone, I am a junior designer, just started a freelance contract that will possibly extend to full time after 3 months. The manager looks like he expects me to work 9-5 with daily checkins and 1 hour lunch reminder messages. But the contract is freelance so am a bit confused. Freelance is flexible isnt it? No working hours is mentioned in the contract. How do I address this without putting any sort of bad impression? He is nice and friendly but not sure if I just give in or address it.

Feeling anxious about a major conversation I have to have with my so after work today. I actually wrote down all my thoughts on a paper because the idea of it makes me physically nauseous. It has to do with money/business ideas, won’t get into details. Not even sure why I am typing this, I guess for advice/ just to vent. *sigh* wish me luck I’m just worried sick how this convo will turn out.
