I have had an insane yr- looking like I’m going to beat billable goal by 400+ hours. I’m supposed to take the last two weeks of the year off but after looking @ my todo list I’m getting severely pessimistic about being able to meet the deadlines and actually taking the PTO. All of these are court deadlines and I’m not in a position to move them. Bc of the crazy year, pandemic, etc. I am running on fumes. How do I make it these last few weeks? How do you ever take real pto in this industry?

Have you interviewed for a job where you haven’t even spoken to the recruiter? At this company I’ve dealt with the interview scheduler, hiring manager and even a panel for my second interview with the director and another senior manager…but no recruiter.

I reached out, but still nothing…so I don’t even know the real comp, benefits or specifics of this job. Has anyone encountered this? I’m thinking I’d speak to the recruiter once an offer is made.

Advice needed!! Have 8+ years of compliance/legal/in house experience (not privacy law except HIPAA). I really want a Privacy Counsel role so I took and passed the CIPP/US and CIPM exams this past year. I’ve been offered an Associate Director job at PwC. Is this a good stepping stone to a Privacy Counsel role? How long should I expect to work at PwC before I could apply to Privacy Counsel roles??

Recently got laid off. I am on H1b. Old Company has offered to pay for next two months as part of severance and already gotten an offer from another company. which i’ll join in 2 weeks. Is it ok to get paychecks from 2 companies while on H1b if one paycheck is part of severance agreement?

Difference between a good shop versus the bad ones is the former avoiding panic hires, they vet thoroughly to ensure they hire better. Bad agencies hire anything that simply walks and talks.

I started my UX design career in the design agency world. It’s been rewarding but exhausting. I started to look for in-house design team UX positions.

So I am here looking for advice. Do you have any tips for designers who wanna make a transition from design agencies to the in-house design teams? How should I sell myself to in-house design teams?

Planning to work in fintech/banks as a stepping stone. I did a few projects with bank clients and I am quite familiar with the industry.
