I have had an opportunity presented to me to make a switch from the underwriting desk to the agency side as a producer. To my surprise the base pay is equal, however the producer obviously has new and renewal commissions. Am I nuts to leave my strict 40 hour weeks behind for a chance in the sales world? I worked in the corporate and government worlds before law school. Just graduated and working at a boutique firm, but I'm just...tired. I don't feel like I have the fire in my belly I had when I was fresh out of college, and getting just six billable hours a day seems grueling. I also have imposter syndrome and anxiety about messing up. Will I eventually hit my stride and feel energized by my work instead of drained?
