I wouldnt. Tipping for things like that should be for going above and beyond their service. But ive also decided recently to stop tipping baristas unless they do something special/remember my name n drink etc. We are going a bit far with all these tipping expectations
Agree, kind of feel like tipping has become a practice of “why not see put out the jar, envelope, prompt on the iPad and see if someone will tip” for a lot of services. I started tipping for services only where I know the person’s salary is specifically lowered in anticipation of tips or if a service is extraordinary.
I never tipped for my laser sessions. Guess that also falls in this category
My understanding is that you tip for staff but not owners of places like that. Since the doctor who owns my med spa does my treatments, I don’t tip. I got that rule from Allure Magazine... it may or may not be actually right...
There’s no tips permitted for injectables, IPL, or lasers at med spa I go to in DC. Facials, massage, etc are still fair game. It’s a higher end place with a couple derms, master aestheticians, and master injectors, just for point of reference.
I don’t tip for my hydrofacials, done at a doctors clinic. If I went for a normal facial at a beauty salon, I tip
Ok I’m think along the same lines. For a regular facial, I leave a tip. Anything involving a syringe, I don’t
My place is specific— all injectables are done by licensed nurses and by law, they are not allowed to accept tips.
If your practitioner is not a nurse, it might be a gray area.
Ahh that makes a lot of sense now why my place doesn’t do tips for injections, the injector is a NP-C, BSN, MSN... Thanks for the info.
