I’ve interviewed for several Director and VP roles over the last 6 months. I keep getting to the end only to either be ghosted or told the position is “postponed due to budget”. Even my own company wants me to sit a Director role another 24 months before promotion “because of budget”.

Is budget really the reason or am I doing something wrong? How do I finally get that promo? Been regional ops (13 states) for 15mo and Director slotted for 9 now.
