Friday afternoon vent: we hired an in-house litigation attorney two months ago. I was expecting to have to teach him the company/industry. Instead he needs in depth computer training.

Examples of things he has needed my help with:

1. Saving a word doc as a pdf
2. Bookmarking a webpage
3. Creating a new folder in his documents folder
4. Printing emails to pdf for exhibit use
5. He refuses to even download Adobe
6. And has barely even tried to learn the main program we use for tracking stuff.

That’s just a small list of things I’m told I should hate because they’re all socialist. I’m not at all sorry to report that I’m FOR all of those things. Call me whatever you want.

Difference between a good shop versus the bad ones is the former avoiding panic hires, they vet thoroughly to ensure they hire better. Bad agencies hire anything that simply walks and talks.

I am just baffled by the number of folks asking the same questions over and over again. You guys shouldn’t throw your hard earned $$$ at this without knowing what you’re doing! Watch out!!!
