Spent 5 years at Capgemini. Loved all my projects and the people there. People/culture were much better than Deloitte. If I had to go back to Deloitte or Cap, I’d choose Cap
Based on prestige, cap is not as good as big four. However, the best ppl. I’ve ever met was from cap.
It depends which country and business unit you're looking at.
US: Cap is below Big 4
Europe: Invent is considered a tier 3 and above Big 4 (Big 4 are not as prestigious in Europe as they are in the US), Cap group is on same level but different focus (tech vs audit)
Can resonate that Invent does work in the same league as Big 4 and equally lacking in tech skills as Deloitte et al.
That being said keen to hear your rationale on why Invent falls in tier 3? It is basically not even considered in the same league as Big 4 in the UK but have been growing at an incredibly fast rate.
The real answer is no. It goes big4 then Accenture in most cases. If you are talking mgmt consulting it’s usually MBB, then the Big4, then Accenture, then more specialized firms.
MAYBE if you are talking tech-only capgemini makes that list, and in most cases it’s after Accenture and some of the Big4 that have well-established tech arms.
Tier 2 is above b4. Brand might not be as well known but the work is def a step above on the whole
I had a job offer from Cap and an offer from Deloitte coming out of college. Deloitte was doing ultra shady stuff while Cap was very kind to me.
Took cap in a heartbeat, don’t regret a thing.
so called big 4 and capgemini are equally deplorable. include accenture too
What about SAP practice
SAP practice is solid and Gartner agrees
In Europe it's the same tier (at least in my country) for tech implementation
I've got the feeling in the US totally not
Country and area make a big difference, as does capability.
Invent is clearly more a competitor than Cap generally, and within Invent the Innovation & Strategy arm is probably the leading edge now it includes Fahrenheit212. In terms of capability, Cap Invent still sells mainly to the CIO. Outside that space we’re pretty rubbish.
To put this into context, seeing Big 4 or Accenture in the bid process for something tech related isn’t scary in the slightest. Since F212 merged I’m also noticing that we’re running into BCG Digital and McKinsey Tech a lot more than ever before and (occasionally) winning.
Country-wise, Invent in France is clearly more prestigious than anywhere else. U.K. it’s kind of meh but big investment in quality senior hires going in. From what I hear in the US Invent is pretty much garbage, but I’ve worked in France and not in US.
Summary, in the right country and with the right customer we’d be licking our lips if we found out that Deloitte etc. were our competition. Flip side, as soon as we’re out of our comfort zone we’d be toast.
