Hi All, I joined PwC SDC as an SA about 5 months back and i'm still in under probation. I received an offer from Genpact for an 40% hike at AM designation. Would it wise to reach out to HR/Management with the offer letter and ask them for a raise? What are the chances they will accept it and what could be its potential impact on my annual appraisal & future at PwC? Given that PwC just gave a mid year 5% hike, what kind of hike and bonus can i expect in July, with 2/3 rating? Pwc sdc Genpact

“In exchange for 100 hour weeks and one of the most toxic work environments in america”
EY3 - Idk man, you’re description sounds very similar to public accounting, except the RSUs making employees rich.
Sounds like a job where I wouldn’t have to bring my computer home every night and on vacation and that is something you can’t put a price tag on. I would want to know more, but sounds pretty awesome!
These jobs are absolutely brutal. 4 12 hour days on your feet all day, immense pressure every single day. There’s 4 shifts:
Sunday - Weds 6am to to 6pm
Sunday - Weds 5pm to 5am
Weds - Saturday 6am to 6pm
Weds - Saturday 5pm to 5am
During prime week and over the holidays (2 months total) you work 6 12 hour days a week. Worse than our busy season.
If you’re just starting...you’ll get the weekend nights most likely. Your friend sounds like he is atleast a “senior operations manager” which would be 5+ years of warehouse operations management experience - even then that salary is probably inflated. An Ops manager makes around 90k at Amazon - tops.
Good pay - the RSUs made a lot of employees rich. Very brutal and tough job and hours. You’re managing a warehouse full of...well, warehouse employees. 90% who don’t want to be there.
What’s his background that got him that position?
Decent money, but I’ve never talked to someone who likes working at Amazon. Terrible culture, grueling hours

See I knew I needed more information..... 🤦♀️ that makes PA look good, and that’s not easy 😳

@PWC1 - my buddy went from Amazon to EY. Imagine quality of life working 5pm to 5am every Friday and Saturday night - then having to sleep all day Sunday. Extremely hard to socialize, keep up with friends, and make new friends.
If you have no life outside of work / hell yea go for it. Better pay. If you do? Not ideal for mental health.
Are they still hiring ?
Amazon is a great company, but a bad company to work for. High turnover, long hours, and bosses expect you to be always available
Thanks all. I have no insight to the company and I wanted to see if anyone else did. Right now, he's a USAF Maintenance Officer.
Sounds like one job where they actually compensate you for how horrible the day to day job is. And the hours. Would not want that 😳
Lol i once had an amazon offer in 2013. Stock was around $200...i turned offer down. I wouldve been rich today
OP how many years of service with the AF?
Cracking a whip.at amazon.or the big 4
..is there reallly a real.difference???
Take it! Amazon’s shares are at 2k each and they doubled in one year. 130k regardless of location you can’t beat that. Four years will go by before you know it.
@Deloitte1... NASDAQ is so inflated that doubling in one year might be a huge red flag...
