Hi Folka, I am having 6 yrs of experience in core operations having good Power BI and excel skills. Also six Sigma certified and preparing for PMP. Can anyone help me to know what I could expect according to market standards?

How hard is the PMP exam ?

Does anyone here have a PMP or Project Management certification? If yes can you please share where the institute from where we obtain such certification matters? And how difficult is the test after training?

I started my first job as a PM in Jan, 2022 in automotive field . I'm paid 80K CTC . I'm currently living in Ontario, Canada. I am a contracted staff, so my pay effectively will remain the same for some time. Since I have only 1 year experience, I am not sure if I'll be able to land a permanent job as well as a good hike. I'm planning to get my PMP but that requires 3 years of experience. What should I be doing till then? Stay or is it possible to get higher pay outside in supplier companies?

Currently a BA(1 yoe) in a finance company looking to branch into more senior roles with tech consulting(data science). Need to continue studies but am not sure what to choose- currently thinking of CFA, Amazon Cloud Practitioner or PMP does anyone have any advice recommendations on the path forward. I’m a PMP with experience in risk management, corporate reporting, and environmental compliance. Has anyone done the PgMP course and exam? Is it worth it?
I got my PMP and while I didn’t see an impact on my career, it was great for organizing all the bits of PM knowledge into one cohesive framework, but I’m not sure about PgMP.

Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. I also just found out that a new hire (male, also an engineer) is the reason I got a raise after ~5 years of stagnancy. I love my job, but it’s time to move on. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.

Looking to transition from global health nonprofit work to consulting - any thoughts on what steps I should take? I’m considering a PMP cert, masters degrees, etc but I wonder if I should just start applying and see what happens (I have started - getting minimal interest). A year or so ago, I had an interview with IBM for a Program Manager. Good thing it I didn’t work out as I got something better at a more modern tech firm. However someone told me there’s a Complex Project Management cert which IBM offers only internally and apparently makes the PMP feel like a joke. Any way you can take something similar externally? I have my PMP and DASSM

Federal folks, what are senior consultants making these days?

I am in financial management making 117k. I have a BA and 7 years work experience with 3 years in consulting, sitting for PMP exam soon. Wondering if I should jump to senior consultant at another firm, or stay and try to make managing consultant (not sure the salary).

I'm getting into an official Project Manager role soon. Starting pay is mid 70s. I plan on getting my PMP within a year or so as I can use past experience as well to help count. Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.
