Essentially this is PwC’s version of golden handcuffs to keep you there long enough (5 yrs to fully vest), and to make up for their overall shitty 401k program.
Yes every paycheck. Percentage of salary (capped at a certain point I believe). It’s not pre or post tax, since it’s not your money. It’s firm money. Wealth builder works just like a 401k account, distributions are taxable and you can pick from any of the funds available in the PwC 401k account.
Our 401k is butt garbage
Worth noting that the time to vest is based on hours worked, not calendar years. For example, I'm on pace to fully vest (5 years) in a little over 4 years.
Admittedly, a disproportionately small silver lining to working "overtime."
P1 thanks. So does it equally vest over 5 yr period?
OP - I believe the vesting begins at 3 yrs and the fully vests at 5. Nothing if you leave before 3.
There is no partial vesting for the wealth builder. Got to stay the full five years to get the full amount. 401k is 20% after 2 years, 40% after 3, 60% after 4 and 100% after 5.
