Is it worth staying in public accounting if I want to pivot to a completely different industry (PE/investment/asset management)? I’m currently in DT tax BTS (1 yr.) and work primarily for investment management clients. But would like to avoid going into fund accounting/ops and would like to try and get An analyst role. The only upside I can see as of now is waiting til I get my CPA, and then apply to an MBA program which would help me land an analyst role. DT might help on an MBA application?

Spoke to hiring manager yesterday and was moved on in the process. Less than 24 hours later I receive a note that:

“pausing search for the role for the foreseeable future role due to shift in priorities”

This feels like a lie....thoughts?

I’m approaching YE compensation discussions and was curious to see what folks/the industry are paying for institutional middle-market sales/distribution/business-development roles. I have 3yrs of experience with the same firm and am currently working as a sales analyst for the institutional sales team in NA. I have experience with traditional long only solutions, real estate (primarily value add funds), and a sector specific hedge fund. Any and all feedback is welcome!

I’m having issues with linking excels.
I would try to use “=“ and clicking another workbook to link the numbers/formulas, but it wouldn’t do anything. It would work on one workbook but not there other ones.

There is also the issue where when I paste, it wouldn’t bring over the formula and only the values, and again it would work on some excels but not the rest.

Lastly when I enter do use the “paste link” when I come back to it another day, it would just give me a ref error.

I got an offer to work as a commercial real estate agent at Avison Young. My background is in residential sales. I’m wondering how complex working in commercial sales is.
1- Am I responsible for generating leads and networking just like residential?
2- Are there growth opportunities in this field; like is there a corporate ladder in this path to look forward to?

So I am currently on my notice period and had one question regarding returning the asset in person at the office, so the thing is since I joined TCS during covid I haven't been to the office even once and don't have the ID card as well, so on the day of returning the asset how will I get entrance into the office, also the office where I have to return the asset is different from my base location ?
