Talked to a recruiter about a Senior Portfolio Development Manager role at M12 (Microsoft’s VC). Base is 160-180k + 15% bonus + stock grant (idk how much this is). My current salary is 158 and will go up to 180k in July. I’m thinking it doesn’t make sense to apply for this role. Finally escaped the toxic environment of consulting that put me in a bad mental state and never really allowed me to grow in the direction I wanted skill wise. Started my first day in industry and feel like I’m expecting too much/projecting my anxiety caused by consulting onto small things that were said/done today and came away feeling very anxious and sad.
