Yesterday I attended MS hackerrank test and was able to solve some Java based MCQ and one sql query correctly but not able to execute a code with any passed test case so should I expect a call from a recruiter for an interview?

Will be doing a video interview for a Sr Mgr role - behavioral interview. Any insights on what to expect? TIA

Hi FB family - seeking some help for my soon to be graduating son. He has an interview with capital one. He’s cleared other stages thus far. This last one he’s pretty intimidated by because it includes some type of case interview where the Capital One team will share a pseudo code type case. How much DSA can be asked/Important?
I have cleared the technical screening
and my Departmental rounds are scheduled.
Just wanted insight in this.
I am good in SQL, spark, bigdata,-techstack, but
DSA is something I am not in touch on day to day basis.
So I expect that perticular portion can be a bit challenging for me.
Lets say I don't perform in that but perform good in rest of the area, Can it be reason to not get selected for the final offer??

I recently had an interview for an Analyst role in VCA. I didn’t do too well in the case study but feel confident in the behavioral/situation interviews. I got the answer but still stumbled a bit during. How are my chances if my case study interview was not strong but other interviews were? Also anyone have insight on the timeline for decisions after final interview? Is it possible to get an offer?
I really want this position and disappointed in myself for screwing up but still hoping. TIA

Working on applications for academic positions (tenure-track), and finding it extremely difficult to write a research statement that is not too close to my current research that hiring faculty would think I lack originality, but also not too far-fetched/unrealistic or on topics that I find interesting but has insufficient knowledge/expertise.

I am being seriously underpaid and I have known this information for the last one year. I am very bored at my job and plan to leave as soon as I get my immigration papers come. This would allow me to work without any sponsorship. Quarterly review is coming up and the time of the year when they typically give you raise. I have been debating whether I should ask for a raise even if I am planning on leaving very soon. I am pretty sure my company won't be giving me what I can get at other places.

I am a mom of a 4 year and a 15 month old. I feel like this pandemic exhaustion has taken a toll on me as a mom. I used to be a conscious, creative and a gentle parent with some terrible moments. Now, I am just more angry, mean to my 4 year old and get triggered easily. It’s so so so hard and I know we’ll get through this BUT I think my kids are just going to hate me soon:( how do I get out of this vicious cycle of losing my shit —- feelinguilty - vowing to be a better parent??
