I am currently thinking of applying for CA teaching license to be part of the school system hopefully next school year. I have being searching on their website and all I could find is that as a 1st time applicant in CA schools I must mail my application. Is this correct? Is there no place to just apply online? If it is please share it.

I got an email about applying to be a summer instructor for Kode with Klossy. I'm looking to learn more about it from other teachers who have done it before?

About to interview for a high school English position. It's been 20 years since I taught that grade level; I've been in 3rd grade for 11 years. Is anyone else so sick of the student behaviors that you’re applying for jobs too? This isn’t what I signed up for. I get the kids had trauma from the pandemic and even continue to do so. But no one is doing anything about it on the other side, the healing and re-learning side. At this rate, we will have 24 year olds telling their bosses about the pandemic problems and how the world owes them because of it, oh and here is my list of accommodations for my job…

Does anyone have any suggestions for landing a job? I thought that teachers were in high demand but I've applied for 23 jobs this summer & haven't heard from a single one. I update my cover letter every time to adhere to the specific school I'm applying for.. I've had a lot of experience (long term subs & 2 years as a prek teacher. I'm just wondering why I'm not getting anything! I have a master's in early childhood/my license is in PK-2. Any thoughts would be great 😃 thanks teacher community

I applied for another job earlier in the summer, and they just got back to me wanting to do an interview this Friday (our first contact day). It's a great opportunity, and I would LOVE to do it, but we start school next Thursday. Should I tell my principal that I have the interview? Or would I wait until I know if I have the job? If I don't get it, I intend to keep teaching, but if I do, it will be at the worst possible time!

I see major changes needed in order to keep our education system from imploding. It is a bubble that will burst if we just keep applying temporary fixes to patch problems. If you were designing an education system from scratch meant to serve students, parents, and society as effectively and efficiently as possible what would it look like?

After a great deal of soul searching, I’ve decided to leave the profession. I’ve had three teaching jobs that were total disasters (I left after less than 1 year in each). I recently applied to three different districts and none of them called me for an interview. I do want to wish all teachers good luck for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year.

Does anyone have any experience teaching in extremely affluent areas? I’m interviewing at a place that 4th year teachers are getting almost 70K but I’m worried about the admin pressure and parent communication that will come with that price tag

Why am I not getting hired? I’ve applied to at least 19 open positions in the OC/South OC area in California over the course of 4 months. I’m currently leaving my position due to low enrollment. I’ve had 3 interviews so far, and the last one I know and made sure to answer and clarify all that was asked of me, yet I’m still coming up short. My resume is updated and formalized, my qualifications are where they need to be, and I also stated that I’m more than able and willing to learn new things.

I had an interview 3 or 4 months ago with a HS Vice Principal, I thought it went well. He spoke about a potential Demo lesson and visit to the school, due to its location and salary range I was excited. He told me they will be in touch soon. However, months passed with no word, so I accepted another offer, and within the same week I accepted another offer. 3 months after being ghosted, I received an invite for an in-person interview and demo lesson. What’s up?

I apply for a job. Same job that currently have but at a different school on my district. On the surface it appears to be a simple transfer. I’m encouraged to apply. I feel the interview goes well. But I don’t get the transfer. And I’m told that competition was steep. Everyone at the school I want to transfer to are surprised. I get the impression that many people applied. In fact I’d be surprised if there was a lot of people applying for this position. I am so frustrated.

How do you calm down anxiety after a job interview for a job you really want?

Is the Blue Ribbon School thing a real accomplishment, or just a participation trophy for schools willing to jump through the hoops of applying?

I went in for a first round interview. It was a perceiver type and I felt like i killed it. He told me I was one of 8 applicants chosen and I was the first interview for this round. He said they had first round interviews through Wednesday so I should hear by Friday whether I would move on.

I got a call today from the building principal asking me to come in tomorrow for round 2 with her and the special education director. I’m hoping this is a really good sign?!

We hear about a lot of teachers leaving, retiring, quitting, etc. but is anyone out there the ones who are being “left behind?” I’m sad because so many of our staff is leaving. Do any of the demonizing headlines about teachers make anyone want to leave education? Someone on Fox yesterday said that teachers are inclined to be pedophiles. He especially called out male teachers. He had a whole interview about it. He’s a playwright & goes by the name Mamet or something. I am so upset about this disgusting false allegation that was being made on national tv which has billions of viewers. 😡😡😡😡😡

If you were a dean of special education in charge of leading a PD what would you choose as your topic and why? I will present a model PD for a panel interview and am interested in the perspective of other stakeholders.

What are some of tips for interview anxiety. I have a speech impediment that causes me to stutter and have been turned down for jobs because it seems like I can't formulate answers when I'm trying to untie my tongue.

Would it be a good idea the preface this at the beginning of interviews? Or should it be a thing I say if asked why I'm stuttering?

I remember being told by teachers in college I'd have a hard time getting a job because of the stutter and it took me two years to find my first.

My super interintendant is not accurately portraying the staffing struggle in my district. We are the largest & lowest paid in the state. His news interview stated covid and technology are the two reasons for it. Before the pandemic my department was always short staffed. The raises are locked in and pennies a year ($14 to start) Should I let the news station know his info is false? We've been asking for more pay for years through pur union rep. Students are being hired as custodians as well

What are some great tips for someone making their first career relocation.
