My favorite thing /s is that during your YE comp discussion they include your applause awards and OPAs as part of your compensation.
I have even been told by PPMDs who are on the comp committees that these are factored into your comp amount. (example - if they were going to give you a 12k raise and a 10k bonus, but you got 2k in OPAs during the year, you will most likely get 1k knocked off of bonus and and 1k off of raise). All OPAs and Applause Awards go away at the SM level.
When I worked at a regional firm they gave me a "You Nailed It!" Award... it was a block of wood with a giant nail in it. Luckily P-dubs gives out CPA bonuses to experience hires with a 3 year look back.

Yeah, but Deloitte grosses up the award for tax purposes, so sometimes you can come out with more cash if you get a higher range applause award vs a lower range outstanding performance award

Is Pwc cheap or something, they only give out at most $50 real time recognition awards here and there limited to the managerial $300 budget. (????) wheres my random $150/300 award.

RSM gives out accolade points. Anyone senior and up can give, each point is worth $1. Limit of $400 a year up to manager. $750 for senior managers and up
People can nominate other people and recognize good work, etc. $500 and under comes as Amex gift card. Larger amounts hit your paycheck and are taxed
No not everyone usually gets one. Depends on the PPMD of your engagement and the office "pool" for such awards. I've had experiences where only the very top performers have gotten small ones, but other ones where every team member who slightly exceeded expectations got two - one at interim and one year end
I never gotten a real time recognition award for less than $150. I think it depends on your team/engagement, but it's unfair to say pwc only gives out $50 awards....
Pwc 3: are u manager +? If not, managers only get $300 for the year for real time recognition awards, which they can only give to 2 people for the entire year if they wish to give $150....so yeah on average it is never $150 for the average person..
