M1 your specialist leader and master are reversed. Specialist master is M and Specialist leader is SM.
Didn't know about studio so thanks
For traditional consulting: BA, Consultant, Senior Consultant, Manager, Senior Manager, Partner
BTA > Consultant > Senior Consultant > Manager > Senior Manager > PPMD
Studio track:
Studio Associate > Studio Staff > Studio Senior > Studio Lead (M1) > Studio Sr Lead (M2) > Studio Sr Manager
Specialist track:
Specialist Senior (SC) > Specialist Leader (M) > Specialist Master (SM)
Associate model (delivery centers)
A1 - A9
The studios also have a variety of titles like Creative Director that align to standard studio track levels. Too many to list.
^ Except flip Specialist Master (M) and Specialist Leader (SM). That track also has Specialist Executive level which is a rank higher than SM, but below PPMD.
And then there’s the higher leadership, of course (principal, VP, etc)
IMO, the alignment of titles isn’t quite 1 for one compared to B4, especially if you’re from Booz federal.
I just came from PwC which has similar structure (associate, exp associate, senior associate, manager, director, partner) in Booz federal, ONLY Senior Associates actually have any of the same responsibilities as a D or PwC manager so in reality, C, SC, A and LA at BAH = BTA through SC at Deloitte, SA = M, Principal = SM and VP = PPMD in terms of both pay and responsibility.
However in our commercial and international practices, big 4 style managerial authority starts at A or LA depending on leaderships decision and pay is higher, so the BAH to D alignment is more like:
C = BTA through Junior S
SC = junior S though SC
A = senior SC to junior M
LA = experienced M to junior SM
SA = senior SM
Principal = junior PPMD
VP+ = senior PPMD
What ev ... flipping badges to govie. Those layers no longer matter. See you on the flip side.
LA1, is this difference in mapping between government and commercial due to differences at Booz between the two practices or differences at Deloitte? Here, people that work with federal clients tend to have more responsibilities than commercial counterparts at the same level so a legacy fed manager’s responsibilities are typically equivalent to a commercial SM
Differences at BAH. Our US government practice is very much a high volume, low quality outsourcing business not entirely unlike Deloitte services or Accenture outsourcing (whatever they call it these days). Our commercial business, however, is high end cyber and strategy similar in function to S&. And by similar, I mean exactly the same business model and most of the same leadership - just with more of a cyber focus because our Fed Science and Engineering IP provides a huge catalog of services and capabilities to draw on.
