Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

If you don’t ask don’t tell, would they contact your former employer to verify?

No personal experience but from what I've heard it really depends on the job.
More likely to approve a yoga class than a financial consulting side gig.

Omg you must have a lot of time in your hands. I can barely have a life, let alone get a second job. I don’t know how to do it but best of luck :)
If you have time for a second job, let them know so they can fill up your extra time with more work.
Had no problem with it but I work at a restaurant on weekends, they really just don’t want you in a position where you would be competing with the company or having to consistently miss work
They don't want Independence conflicts. I don't think they are withholding approvals because they don't think you can manage your time. They don't want you employed by someone we audit, or doing things like signing tax/audit documents, etc.
There is a system via Independence you submit this to. I did this a couple of years ago when I started teaching a college class at night. I can't remember where you link to this -- check with your Talent person. Once Independence clears it, you need to get BU approval via email.
What have happened? Were you able to keep your secondary employment while working at EY?
I would think youd have to get cleared by the ethics and compliance department to make sure you don’t impair the firm’s independence. Even if you’re not in audit, they don’t play around with that
