@A offer or request?
I put Ex-Boyfriend in my title. I’m pretty good at it.
I've seen some "Ex-Deliotte" too but just doesn't have the same cachet ;)
It’s like debating a big public ivy verse attending a small elite lib arts college. Swarthmore is great but I’d rather take Michigan’s giant network any day of the week. And swarthmore is good for its niche but cs or engineering? Yeah nobody thinks of them.
Clicked on one of these profiles and they had only a month of experience with Google then their next job is listed lol. Weird flex.
They got you to look and that was a win for them.
Meh, if it made you click/ look twice then they’ve achieved what they hoped it would do. It’s all just power of the brand
My apologies on their behalf. Perhaps a lack of awareness is why they're now "Ex-"
Haven’t seen that but agree it seems exceptionally awkward.
Putting ex-mck in your title gets you a ton of hits from recruiters that you normally wouldn’t get (cause they would never land on your page). Sorry the brands strong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know that’s why several really cool people I know do it but imo it’s still a little cringe. Wish it wasn’t so effective for lazy recruiters!

Thinks it gives them more credibility and positive branding. I agree - Working at such companies is certainly a feat in and of itself, but a bit arrogant IMO.
I don’t see it. It just makes them look like a failure who can’t let go of the past.
Mind you that leaving MBB isn’t the failure (you’re in a elite club having worked there at all) not moving on is.
Playing devils advocate. If you have more than 2+ years at Top Tech or MBB, recruiters love it and reach out regardless of where you are now. If it’s less than that you likely couldn’t make it past a performance review or burned out so agree pretty damn cringe. If you worked anywhere else like big4 yes, Deloitte that includes you, just don’t LOL
What about other exes? Ex-Harvard, ex-Astronaut, ex-New Yorker, ex-husband?
I feel like astronauts or ex-astronauts are cool enough to do what they want to do. Pretty badass group of people.
I’ve seen “mbb alum” or “big 4 alum” which isn’t as cringey but is still awkward to include in headline. Let your experience speak for itself...
There’s a guy on my LinkedIn who charges for coaching sessions and resume reviews and he has like less than a year at mck and Deloitte...
Holy smokes - you mean he was able to move from lowly McK to Big D?!?!?!? Lucky Duck.
I’ll be any girl with daddy issues future “ex” boyfriend
😂
Because they are the best companies in their field = easily attracts recruiters and other opportunities

Love it. All you're missing is Data Science | Machine Learning
That's new. 😐😂
“Ex” has a negative connotation, I don’t know why people would choose that.
Lol. Are y’all talking about Andrew...
