I'm not a reporter, I'm just a citizen who took a picture during an event and uploaded it to my social media account. Turns out a digital media wrote me to have permission to use my picture, and when I said yes, they said they were looking for some other picture because I had already given permission to the competitors, which I didn't.

1st F director in my role at my co. Sector = patriarchical. Predecessors did zero. Boss=micromanager/poor communicator. Ex.,thanks for the filing, but it’s too late. It’s due 4/7. You need to send a summary earlier. I did on 2/25. Ok, well, you need to hold a meeting. You told me to stop doing that. I didn’t know what this was. I told you Tues/wed what I was working on & you didn’t say stop. 3rd time in 2 wks. Summarized discussion for confirmation. No response. I feel tot’ly devalued. Advice?

Been at my company for 2 years now, and every time we discuss being promoted to next level it gets pushed to “next cycle” aka still doesn’t happen. We keep hiring new people into a higher level with less experience than me so I’m feeling like the only way to get to the next level (in a reasonable) time frame is to go external. Don’t really want to bc I really like the people, any tips? Its not performance as I’ve been a “top performer” every time.

Any advice on setting boundaries on work life balance as a more junior consultant? I find that the expectation, exaggerated now with COVID, is that junior people have no need for time for personal reasons every day, while the more senior ones (who often have kids) are afforded to take it. I have a brand new person on my team- she is totally new to the field, has recently returned to the workforce (solo mom of 3 teens), is very smart. I knew when I hired her that I’d have to lean in to get her to where she needed to be. She has a ton of potential but lacks experience in a professional setting. I need to help her level up her written communication skills. Any suggestions on books, resources, strategies? She is learning by doing and takes feedback but I want more supports for her.

So my current company just underwent a contracting transition, where they basically hired another larger company to come in and manage us with the potential of selling our building to them within the year. I have a really good relationship with my direct supervisor who happens to be the administrator of the building. The day after the transition he called me to give me the heads up that my position doesn’t exist within the new companies structure. He said that none of their buildings have

A new guy joined my team, we’re the same level. He became hyper competitive, told me he was more qualified, that I should give my work to him, and then finally stretched the scope of a project so that it included an analysis of my work and included inaccurate data to show how my work was ineffective. I escalated to our manager, and he’s now stopped, but I feel uncomfortable and honestly scared. Never experienced anything like this before and feel like I should leave. Would welcome any advice.
